Tarot has captivated the minds and hearts of seekers for centuries—not because the cards hold fixed answers, but because they open doors to meaningful reflection, interpretation, and transformation.

Pre-Introduction

Stop Memorizing. Start Understanding.

If you have ever picked up a Tarot deck, looked at the 78 unique cards, and felt overwhelmed, you are not alone. Most of us have hit the same wall: trying to memorise keywords from a "Little White Book" for every single card.

The maths is discouraging: 78 cards, reversed meanings, and thousands of combinations. It is a massive memory test that often leads to frustration, burnout, and readings that feel like you are just reciting a dictionary.

There is a better way.

The modular "building blocks" approach overcomes this. We shift the focus from rote memorisation to a structured understanding of core components. By focusing on these core meanings, Tarot becomes a consistent, flexible, and connected system.

The modular method involves breaking the deck down into three fundamental parts:

1. The Suits: The foundation is understanding the core theme of the five groups: Cups, Wands, Swords, Pentacles, and the Major Arcana.

2. The Sequences: Learning the logic of the numbers (Ace to 10) and the Court Cards (Page, Knight, Queen, King) helps you see how each card fits into a narrative arc.

3. Building the Cards: Once you know the Suit and the Sequence, you can combine them to build the meaning of an individual card.

This process gives you a deep understanding of Tarot without the headache. The goal is to see how cards connect and work together, rather than relying on quick memory tricks.

Think of it like learning a language.

Instead of trying to memorise 78 full sentences, you learn the alphabet (the Suits) and the basic grammar rules (the Sequences). This allows you to construct and interpret any of the 78 "sentences" yourself.

What Lies Ahead

This course is your road map to fluency. Here is a small selection of what we will explore in the initial modules:

  • A Deep Dive into Suits: We will break down the four elemental suits to find their core-concepts.

  • The Logic of Numbers: We will understand the numbers 1–10 through the beauty of geometric sequence.

  • Card Synthesis: We will learn to combine these blocks to interpret individual cards.

  • Practical Application: We will use this structure to read spreads, ask better questions, and refine your interpretations.

Why We Start Small

Unlike many systems that begin with the Major Arcana, those big, exciting archetypes and universal life lessons, we will start small.

In many ways, the Minor Arcana is far more important to day-to-day life than the Majors (plus, they are easier to read, which is a bonus!). The Minor Arcana represents the literal events that make up our lives. If you want to answer questions like "How should I handle this meeting?" or "Why did I get into an argument with my friend?", the Minor Arcana provides direct, actionable, and specific answers.

Don’t worry, we will get to the Majors. However, you will find that tackling those complex cards is much easier once you’ve established a solid foundation in the Minors.

Final Thoughts

You are not here to memorise what I think the cards mean. You are here to learn the language of Tarot through a building blocks approach.

I hope you will find it as exciting, challenging and, ultimately rewarding as we do.

Let’s start building.
